A committed and driven legal copyright professional, I am delighted to currently be working as Quality Assurance Manager at ICE (International Copyright Enterprise). ICE’s vision is to accurately compensate customers for the use of creative works and since September 2018 I have contributed to this vision in the online processing department, ensuring that the online licensing results of our clients’ repertoires is optimised.
I graduated with merit from an LL.M in ‘Intellectual Property & the Digital Economy’ at the University of Glasgow in 2017 (please find my master dissertation here) and during that time was guest blogger on the 1709 blog, a specialist copyright blog. Hit the menu button on the right hand side to read all blogposts that I wrote for the 1709 blog.
I am fascinated with music copyright. It first ignited my interest while I was studying music, when I was intrigued by the challenges faced by samplers, specifically rulings imposed upon rappers in the US. My passion for copyright led me to study an LL.B (graduating with distinction), followed by an LL.M in Intellectual Property and the Digital Economy (graduating with merit). My masters dissertation examined Article 13 (now Article 17) of the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market – the EU Commission’s response to the ‘music value gap’ – and the subsequent impact of the Pirate Bay case.
I am open to opportunities within the copyright field and would be delighted to hear from you if you would like a chat – please email me on tibbie@tibbiemcintyre.com
